Chad Simpson Racing 2007 Review Written By: Chad Simpson Racing (St. Louis, MO - December 6th, 2007) -- As for 2007 we are really excited and proud over how things turned out. At the end of the year we had two point championships and four feature wins to go along with qualifying for some of the top national races of the season. We competed in 40 races, won 4 feature wins, had 18 top five’s, 25 top ten’s and were crowned points champion in two series: 2007 USRA National Late Model Series and the 2007 Indee Open Late Model Series. The team also had some outstanding performances in national races. In June we traveled to Spring Valley, Minnesota’s Deer Creek Speedway for the World of Outlaws Gopher 50. We timed in 5th place, finished 2nd place to World of Outlaws champion Steve Francis in our heat race, and drew a front row starting position for the main event. The team earned a 10th place finish to end the evening. In August the team made the venture to New Richmond, Wisconsin’s Cedar Lake Speedway for the annual USA Late Model Nationals. The team qualified in 8th place, finished 1st in the heat race, and then 2nd place in the fast dash to earn another front row starting position in one of the most well respected Dirt Late Model races in the country. We ran in the top ten most of the race until mechanical failures ended the evening on lap 82 and settled for a 13th place finish. In September the team made its first visit to the prestigious Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH for the famous World 100. The team qualified 57th quick time out of the 202 entries. Finished 7th in the heat and 13th place in the consolation race. This ended the trip to Ohio, but we felt good about how we did in our very first visit to such a tough track competing against the very best in the business. The following week we stayed local and raced the Yankee Dirt Track Classic in Farley, IA. Here we finished 7th place. The last big race of the season was the 4th Annual Knoxville Late Model Nationals in Knoxville, IA. On the opening night we qualified 8th and finished 5th in the heat. Following the heat we finished 1st place in the B-feature and then 15th in the main event. The second night we qualified 11th and finished 5th in the heat. Winning the B-feature again, put us in the main event were we finished 12th place. Our two night effort earned us the 16th starting position for Saturday Night’s main event. We ran the entire 100 laps and finished 17th place in what is fast becoming a nationally recognized event. The 2008 season has already started for the Chad Simpson Racing Team. We will be racing the 2006 Mastersbilt along with a new 2008 Mastersbilt that we will pick up in December. Please be sure to check for updates and news on the team at our website: www.chadsimpsonracing.com The Chad Simpson Race Team would like to recognize the following sponsors for their support in the 2007 race season.
